on one’s best behavior : means to behave perfectly¹ 行为举止得体，经常用于大人说小孩 ，大人也可以用来说自己，通常有调侃的意味。
e.g.<1> She had too much drink. She wasn’t on her best behavior.
            她喝太多了，不像她的举止了。
     <2>I told him he would have to be on his best behavior all day, if he wanted to go to the zoo tomorrow.
            我告诉他，如果他明天想去动物园，那么他今天的就要乖一些。

window-dressing 用装饰门面的手段吸引人，指装装样子
e.g. <1>Those politicians talk about improving our society, but they’re just window-dressing. They really only care about making money.
