 英语中，如果想做比较，可以用比较级这个语法点，形容词或副词的比较级+ than + 比较的对象：
She's more beautiful than other girls. 她比其她女孩都漂亮。
I like tea better than coffee.咖啡和茶，我更喜欢茶。
I make more money than my husband.我比我丈夫挣钱多。

 除了用比较级这个语法点外呢，你还可以选择用"prefer A to B"和"'d rather do A than B", 下面分别讲解：
"prefer A to B"，意思是A和B比较，更喜欢A，A和B可以是名词，也可以是动名词：
I prefer tea to coffee. 咖啡和茶，我更喜欢茶。
Michael prefers watching TV to going to a bar during night. 迈克晚上更想呆在家里看电视，而不是去酒吧。
My boss prefers pretty face to ability when hiring a secretary. 我老板选秘书时，更注重漂亮的脸蛋，而不是能力。

太心寒了，在这里奉劝老板同志们，选秘书还是看重才能划算哦！下面，再介绍另一种表示比较的普便用法："'d rather do A than B"，这里的"'d"是would的缩写，这种用法表示更喜欢做A事，而不是B事。 这里的"do"用实物动词的原形：
I'd rather have red tea than coffee. 与其喝咖啡不如喝红茶。
I'd rather study English than Japanese.我宁可选学英语，而不是日语。
Cherry would rather be a journalist than a dancer.舍丽不想当个舞蹈家，更愿意做一名记者。
