　　超级台风“海燕”横扫菲律宾，初步估计，这场特大灾难夺走了1万以上菲律宾人的性命，共有41个省份的至少970万人受灾。
　　海燕”登陆菲律宾时最大风速达每小时379公里，可能成为有历史记载以来人类遭遇的最强风暴。气象专家分析，“海燕”破坏力巨大，主要是因为它强度极大，速度极快，而菲律宾受灾地区则是海拔不高的群岛。
　　联合国救灾协调组官员塞巴斯蒂安·罗兹·斯坦帕描述，汽车如草堆一样在风中翻滚，街道上满是残骸。“我上一次见到这样的场景是在2004年印度洋海啸之后。”他说。大约22万人在那次海啸中遇难。
