While many cities across China have seen clear skies after nearly a week of smog, it has seen some very creative headlines in newspapers across the country.
First up, Jiyuan Morning, a regional newspaper in Henan province used a picture of the city shrouded1 in smog and barely visible on its front page, with a headline, "This is not a print issue, this is smog".
Oriental Guardian2, a Nanjing based newspaper painted the grey and foggy sky blue, saying, "We hope the blue sky won’t be a luxury".
Henan Business Daily also put the image of the barely visible city cloaked in haze3 on their front page, posing the question, "Is wind the only way to disperse4 the haze?"
And Beijing News used a series of pictures, showing the city’s skyline on different days in a month, to state a reality that many Beijing residents have subconsciously5 accepted: "When there is wind, there is no smog."
