　　I pulled an all-nighter last night.

　　昨晚我熬了一整夜。

　　pull an all-nighter 的意思是：“通宵熬夜，开夜车”。这个短语一般用在年轻人的口语中，经常指考试之前熬通宵地死记硬背，也可指工作时为了某个大项目的会议或者展示通宵地工作。因此，当美国人说"I pulled an all-nighter last night."时，他/她要表达的意思就是:"I stayed up all night."、"I burned the midnight oil last night."、"I worked until deep into the night yesterday."。

　　Boss: Ben, our client is very satisfied with your proposal.
