To celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and France, a special exhibition has opened at the National Museum of China in Beijing. Dubbed1 "Ten Masterpieces of French Painting", the exhibition offers Chinese art lovers a rare chance to view precious works of art from renowned2 museums.
The ten masterpieces are collected from five of France’s top museums, including the Louvre Museum, Versailles Museum, Orsay Museum, Picasso Museum and the National Museum of Modern Art. All are national-level treasure paintings in different genres3. It is also the first time that the five French museums have cooperated for an exhibition overseas.
And to let more visitors get access to the paintings, the National Museum of China has, for the first time, extended the show’s hours till 8 p.m. on weekends. The exhibition lasts till June 15th.
