CCTV reporter Ai Yang has also talked with Longtoushan residents, who shared their stories.
"I was preparing to cook around four p.m. when the ground started to shake. I was so nervous and firmly held on to a desk. But the desk fell over and so did I. I couldn’t move. Then I made a hole of the wall, and yelled1 ’help, help.’ I was eventually saved by my family," said a local resident.
"Our family have all survived the quake, and the house here still stands. But we lost two houses up in the mountains. We are now living in tents, and have beds to sleep on. We also have an adequate supply of food," said another local resident.
