The talkativerelaxed people with a habit of producing leading politicians.

If you are anger, takeyour anger and throw it in the deep sea and come back. And when you come back,you are peaceful and make this land successful, because we love our land, SouthAfrica. All black, white, Indians, colors, all of you, do the same. And don'tbe an anger and laugh every time.

Iremember every word. It was 1996.

For500 years, this land has been shared, not simply by blacks and whites, but by awhole host of races and colors. Through good times and bad, there've beenvisitors and settlers, invaders³ and fugitives⁴. The course people themselves arealmost as new to area as white Europeans, arriving here over centuries in a slowmovement of people out of central Africa. But the truly modern face of the GardenRoute is far more recent again. Food, drink, scenery and weather have allattracted the wealthy, the prosperous and the tourists.
