　　Finish up有“以……为终结”，同时还有 “吃完，吃光”或“喝完，喝光”的意思。对话中的finish up one’s plate是表示吃饭时把盘子里的食物都吃光了，最后只剩下盘子了。这种说法很形象，跟汉语中的“碗都见底了”的说法有异曲同工之妙。
