　　We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

　　对此可能会造成的不便，我们表示歉意。

　　I apologize for being late. The traffic was terrible.

　　很抱歉我迟到了，路上实在太堵。

　　半个句型要记牢

　　apologize for (因……而道歉。)

　　Tip: apologize只能作不及物动词，所以后面接宾语要加介词 gize to sb.向某人道歉。如 Apologize to your sister. (去给你姐姐赔个不是)。要表达"因……而道歉"用介词for: apologize for sth. / doing sth. ，如 I must apologize for the delay¹ in replying to your letter. (未能及时给你回信，我得向你道歉。)而且两个句型可合用，变成apologize to sb. for sth/doing sth. (因……而向某人道歉)。如 He apologized to the teacher for coming late. (他因迟到而向老师道歉)。另外 apologize的名词形式是apology，短语有 make an apology to sb.向某人道歉 make an apology for sth.因某事而道歉。
