　　A: They are nice middle-aged¹ couple, just like us.

　　A: 他们是一对幸福的中年夫妻，就像我们一样。

　　B: If they are just like us, they are not middle-aged.

　　B: 要是像我们一样，他们就不是中年人了。

　　A: Of course they are.

　　A: 当然是。

　　B: Middle-aged means² in the middle, Ethel, middle of life. People don't live to a hundred and fifty.

　　B: 中年意味着在中间，埃塞尔，一生的中间时段。可是谁也活不到150岁。

　　A: Oh, we are the part on the edge³ of middle. That's all.

　　A: 哦，我们是在中年的边缘，如此而已。

　　B: Oh, you know, we are not middle-aged. You're old, and I'm aging.

　　B: 你知道，我们不是中年人了，你老了，我也不年轻。

　　A: Oh, fool! You're nearly seventy and I'm in the low sixties. Would you like to spend the rest of the afternoon squabbling about this?

　　A: 哦，傻瓜，你快70了，我也是60多。你打算就这一点和我争论到天黑吗？

　　B: I can if you like.

　　B: 行啊，只要你愿意。
