【一起闲话英语】多久购物一次？-How often do you go shopping?

speaker¹ I don't like shopping very much. I'm not into all this walking around department² stores⁴ looking at stuff⁵, choosing things. I'm a tall guy⁶ and so it's really hard for me to find clothes that fit⁷ so shopping is really not pleasant⁸.

 

speaker Well, I really, really enjoy shopping. That's why ... a week I could¹¹ spend about four time to go to the department store³, especially¹² when there is a bargain¹³ or sales¹⁴, and since¹⁵ my house is near one of the biggest department store, it's about five minutes by car, so, well, if we want to have lunch together we go to that department store, and after that we go shopping.

 

speaker I go shopping quite a lot. Recently¹⁶, maybe three to four times a week, but what I buy is usually daily¹⁷ needs such¹⁸ as⁹ fruit or food but not clothes or things like that.

 

speaker How often do you go shopping? Well, recently I don't really go shopping at all. Maybe only once a year. I remember in high school though¹⁹ I used²⁰ to go shopping probably²¹ once a week. I used to be one of those spoiled little rich kids²² that would²³ get that would get anything they wanted, but again moving out on my own²⁴, I've discovered²⁵ a hundred dollars for a t-shirt is not a good deal²⁶, and yeah, I think I'm a little bit²⁷ of a better person²⁸ for it.

 

speaker I go shopping maybe about two times a week. I really enjoy shopping, and where I live there are lots and lots of clothes shops open after I finish work, so often when I leave work on my way home I find myself²⁹ wondering³⁰ into shops and picking³¹ things up and trying things on. I love shopping.

 

speaker How often do I go shopping? I like to do my shopping on a weekday³³ because I don't like crowded³⁴ places, and so I do my shopping usually on Mondays or Tuesdays, but for buying groceries³⁵, I like to do my shopping on Fridays.
