Novak Djokovic was in action in the third round against Joao Sousa of Portugal at the Miami Open. The World Number One is doing rather well this year with a 23-1 record while also claiming the Australian Open for his eleventh grand slam. And the Serbinator now has his sights set on a sixth title here in Key Biscayne that would tie Andre Agassi for the record.
Djoker looking pretty serious up 5-1 in the second set after taking the first 6-4, and this forehand to the corner is pure magic.
Nole now has triple match point, but he's only going to need one crack at it. The sneaky drop shot clips the top of the net and Djokovic offers a wry smile as he's off to the fourth round.
Djokovic handles Sousa 6-4, 6-1
The 14th seed Dominic Thiem in the near court as he nails a smash against Yoshihito Nishioka for a 4-2 lead in the second after he won the first set 6-2.
We go to match point and the Austrian is going to take it 6-2 again when Nishioka finds the net. Next up for Thiem is a date with Djokovic.
Now we've got Steve Johnson serving to Thomas Berdych in a battle of big-hitters, but Berdych shows his soft touch with this running winner and later takes the first set 6-3.
We go to the second and Johnson starts to pick apart his Czech opponent. The American goes over top with a well disguised lob en route to winning the frame in a tiebreaker.
But Berdych would right the ship in the decider and now has match point. Johnson replies to the scooped forehand with a cautious slice and then tries to follow it with a drop shot, but catches the net. Berdych takes it 6-3 for a three set victory.
