Chandler: Ooh, Lambchop. How old is that sock? If I had a sock on my hand for thirty years it'd be talking too.
Ross: Okay. I think it's time to change somebody's nicotine1 patch.
Monica: Hey. Where's Joey?
Chandler: Joey ate my last stick of gum, so I killed him. Do you think that was wrong?
Rachel: I think he's across the hall.
Monica: Thanks.
Ross: There y'go.
Chandler: Ooh, I'm alive with pleasure now.
Ross: Hey Pheebs, you gonna have the rest of that Pop-Tart? Pheebs?
Phoebe: Does anyone want the rest of this Pop-Tart?
Ross: Hey, I might!
Phoebe: Sorry. Y'know, those stupid soda3 people gave me seven thousand dollars for the thumb.
All: You're kidding. Oh my God.
Phoebe: And on my way over here, I stepped in gum. What is up with the universe?!
Joey: What's going on?
Monica: Nothing. I just think it's nice when we're all here together.
Joey: Even nicer when everyone gets to wear their underwear...
Rachel: Uh, Joey...
Joey: Oh, God!
Monica: Okay...
All: Oh! That was Lambchop!
Monica: Please, guys, we have to talk.
Phoebe: Wait, wait, I'm getting a déjà vu...no, I'm not.
Monica: Alright, we have to talk.
Phoebe: There it is!
Monica: Okay. It's-it's about Alan. There's something you should know. I mean, there's really no easy way to say this... uh... I've decided4 to break up with Alan.
Ross: Is there somebody else?
Monica: No, nononono... it's just... y'know, things change. People change.
Rachel: We didn't change...
Joey: So that's it? It's over? Just like that?
Phoebe: You know... you let your guard down, you start to really care about someone, and I just --- I---
Monica: Look, I --- I can go on pretending-
Joey: Okay!
Monica: No, but that wouldn't be fair to me, it wouldn't be fair to Alan- It wouldn't be fair to you!
Ross: Who---who wants fair? Y'know, I just want things back. Y'know, the way they were.
Monica: I'm sorry.
Chandler: Oh, she's sorry! I feel better!
Rachel: I just can't believe this! I mean, with the holidays coming up, I wanted him to meet my family.
Monica: I'll meet somone else. There'll be other Alans.
All: Oh, yeah! Right!
Monica: Are you guys gonna be okay?
Ross: Hey hey, we'll be fine. We're just gonna need a little time.
Monica: I understand.
Alan: Wow.
Monica: I'm really sorry.
Alan: Yeah, I'm sorry too. But, I gotta tell you, I am a little relieved.
Monica: Relieved?
Alan: Yeah, well, I had a great time with you. I just can't stand your friends.
1. What is up with somebody
What is up with her? She doesn't seem so upbeat. What is up还可以单独用,如What's up, man? What is up with the universe?!
2. get to
The job of a tour guide is so fantastic. The money is good, and you get to know all kinds of people. Even nicer when everyone gets to wear their underwear.
3. déjà vu
France enters the final hoping for a little deja vu of its own. I'm getting a deja vu.
4. break up
Break up peacefully if you're ready to end a relationship. I've decided to break up with Alan.
5. let one's guard down
Once I completely let my guard down with someone and let him get close to me I scared myself a little. You know... you let your guard down, you start to really care about someone...

Passive/second hand smoking!
Only 15% of smoke from a cigarette is inhaled6 by the smoker7. The other 85% goes directly into the air and is known as second hand smoke. Second hand smoke is a combination of: mainstream8 smoke, which is the smoke inhaled and then breathed out and sidestream smoke, which is the smoke coming from the cigarette between puffs9.
Sidestream smoke has more tar2, nicotine, carbon monoxide and other chemicals that cause cancer than the smoke inhaled through the cigarette itself! All second-hand10 smoke contains cancer-causing chemicals! Passive smoking is the breathing in of the second-hand smoke produced by other people's cigarettes.
In the short-term, exposure to passive smoke leads to immediate11 problems such as irritation12 of the nose, eyes or throat, coughs, nausea13, dizziness and headaches. Every year in the U.K 17,000 children under five years of age are admitted to hospitals because of illnesses related to passive smoking. The risk of cot death is greatly increased in children who have been exposed to smoke either during pregnancy14, or at home if one or both parents smoke.
In the long term, consequences are much more serious --- passive smoking contributes to the development of lung cancer, heart disease and stroke. And, as they grow older children are almost 3 times more likely to start smoking if their parents do.
Everyone at times is a passive smoker, and passive smoking is not just an annoyance15, it's a health risk! So the next time one of your friends lights up in front of you, fire off these facts: Secondhand smoke can produce six times the pollution of a busy motorway16 when in a crowded room, kills about 3,000 nonsmokers each year from lung cancer, causes wheezing17, coughing, colds, earaches18 and asthma19 attacks, fills the air with many of the same poisons found in the air around toxic20 waste dumps, and makes clothes and hair stink21.
