This year’s event includes exhibitions and contests; screenings of classic animations; a cosplay show; a summit forum; merchandising; and a job fair. For the first time, a South-African delegation is attending, marking a historical breakthrough as five continents are now represented.
One of the festival’s most popular events is the cosplay competition, with finals to be held on April 30 and May 1. Initiated in 2005, the six-day festival aims to foster cooperation, competition, and development between cartoon organizations from home and abroad. It is China’s largest animation expo.
