Two police officers were shot Wednesday while sitting in their patrol cars, a separate incident about 20 minutes apart. There has been outpouring of support from the mourning community following the deadly shooting. 

2. With five days left until election day, president Barack Obama was on the stunt2 for democratic presidential nominee3 Hillary Clinton, urging voters to "Choose Hope". Meanwhile, Donald Trump4 told supporters Clinton will be under investigation5 for many years for her use of private email server. 

3. Iraqi special forces continued to consolidate6 their foothold in eastern Mosul on Thursday, despite two attempted car bomb attacks on their position. Special forces stormed into Mosul's outskirts7 on Thursday after two weeks of advances through surrounding IS held territory. 

4. And the Cubs8 have returned to the sweet home in Chicago after knocking off the Indians in Cleveland, win their first World Series in 108 years. A caravan9 of cubs bus was welcomed by a raucous10 crowd outside Wrigley Field early Thursday morning.
