高考在英语里叫做：
The National Higher Education Entrance Examination: 国家高等教育准入考试
注意形容高等教育不能用High，而是Higher.
参加考试的学生主要是为了考入大学，因此也可以把高考称为：
The National College Entrance Examination: 国家大学准入考试，简称为"NCEE"。
文科、理科
英语里文科、理科一般会翻译为：
Social-science: 文科
Natural-science: 理科
和中文的文科意思最相近的另一种说法是：
Liberal arts: 文科
这里的 arts 不是美术，画画的意思，而是泛指文科
关于理科，在北美兴起一个新的概念：
STEM: Science Technology Engineering Math
如果理科学得不好，可以说：
I don't have a STEM cell / bone in my body.
填志愿
填志愿其实就是完成进入大学的申请：
Filling out an application: 填写一份申请
一本、二本
一本、二本实际上是给大学划上了区分梯度，它们在英语里可以这样说：
