Her reactions formed a stark⁴ contrast to the usual somber⁵ responses from Chinese athletes. Unaware⁶ of her third-place finish in the 100-meter backstroke final, she told a reporter in a deadpan⁷ manner that her "arms being too short" caused a very narrow loss.
