Lifeline Express, a mobile hospital, will continue to deliver medical treatment to over 9600 impoverished¹ patients for problems related to cataracts³ in eight Chinese provinces and regions, including Guangdong, Heilongjiang, Shanxi and Henan.

Health officials announced this year's plan for the hospital train on Thursday.

Former Vice⁴ Health Minister Zhu Qingsheng, now a leader of the Chinese Foundation for Lifeline Express, says the project has not only helped cataract² patients, but also facilitated exchanges between eminent⁵ eye physicians from China and abroad.

"Around 70 international medical experts have been invited to come to China this year. Through their participation⁶, these international experts become more aware of Lifeline Express' busy operation in China's poverty-stricken areas. In addition to a remarkable⁷ role in the transfer of advanced techniques, they've also volunteered in helping⁸ spread the influence of Lifeline Express in an international scope."

Meanwhile, the project also assists Chinese eye physicians with their preparations for an international clinical sciences assessment⁹ for ophthalmologists.
