第244期:恼人的鼓声

　　vacation vi.度假;

　　bass¹ n.低音歌唱家，低音乐器; 贝斯；

　　A man vacations on a tropical island, and the first thing he hears is drums. He goes to the beach and hears the drums; he eats lunch, he hears the drums; he tries to sleep, he can’t—drums. Finally he storms over to the manager.

　　"I’ve had it! Can’t you stop those drums?" he begs.

　　"No!" says the manager."It’s very bad if the drums stop."

　　"Why?"

　　一个人在热带岛屿度假，他一来岛上就先听到鼓声。他走到海滩，听到鼓声；他吃午饭，听到鼓声；他想睡觉，睡不着！因为鼓声。最后他向经理大发脾气。

　　"我受够了！你就不能把鼓声停了？"他恳求道。

　　"不！"经理说，"如果鼓声停了，那就太糟糕了。"

　　"为什么？"
