Last month, the company laid off 10% of its global work force.

A sudden end to the expensive Mars lander mission. A dust storm in the beginning of the Martian winter has brought about that end. NASA lost contact with the lander last week, and, they aren't expected to be reconnecting again. It was thought the lander wouldn't last through the winter. The Phoenix⁷ landed on Mars May 25th.

Authorities in Taiwan have detained the former president after 5 hours of questioning from prosecutors⁸. Chen Shui Bian is being investigated on money laundering⁹ and corruption¹⁰ charges. Chen has denied wrongdoing. The former president shouted "long live Taiwanese democracy "As he was being led away.
