A lucky escape

The day started badly. I woke up late because I forgot about the alarm clock the night before. I got dressed in five minutes, and called a taxi to go to the airport. Thirty minutes later the taxi had still not arrived. I called the taxi company and they explained that the taxi had broken down. So I decided¹ to take my own car to heal² through, picked my bag and left the house. But when I got in the car, the engine wouldn't start. I realized that I left the headlines on last night. And I looked at my watch to check. Suddenly I remembered,it was eight o'clock! The clock had changed that weekend!

There was no point going to the airport now. The plane had already taken off! But as I sat there listening to the news, I realized how lucky I had been! A plane had crashed just after taken off his road and I was feared at two hundred and seventeen people abroad are died.
