Someone introducing our show from half a world away, might have found something more awesome1 than Friday’s. I am Carl Aruz. Let’s get started.

First up, President Obama announces a new chapter in the US policies towards Middle East. Yesterday speech the president talked about all of the upheaval2 that’s been sweeping3 across that part of the world. He called the revolutions and political protests a wave of change that cannot be denied. President Obama said US does and will support reforms in the Middle East to north Africa that help the ordinary people and nations there and he spoke4 out harshly against governments that have used force on protestors. He also pushed to restart Israeli and Palestine peace process saying that the demand for change in the region might help kick start negotiations5. In terms of changes across the entire Middle East, the president said it will be years until the story reaches its end but he explained why the US supports change.

There is no straight line to progress. Hardship always accompanies season of hope. The Mississippi river is setting a record in the city of Vitsberg but not he kind that anyone wants to celebrate. The river crusted, reached its highest point at just over 57 feet. That’s more than a foot higher than the old record set in 1937. What you should be seeing here is a run-way. This is a small air-port. These hangers6 are the only signs of that now. Mississippi also suffered its flood related death yesterday. We reported on some of the people affected7 by Mississippi’s rising water. They are also concerned about wild life, like this ? you saw a moment ago who’s searching higher ground.

It’s May 20th and on this day in history. In 1902 Cuba gained its independence after being ruled by Spain. In 1927 American aviator8 Charles Lingberg took off his famous flight across the Atlantic ocean. It’s was the world’s first solo non-stop trans-Atlanta flight and 5 years later, in 1932 a millionaire made her solo non-stop flight across the Atlantic. It was the first time the goal was accomplished9 by a female pilot.
