(单词翻译)

Give us your most negative impression for the future of Japan and your most optimistic impression for the future of Japan.

-The most optimistic one is that the workers put water over the reactor1 core. Electricity is turned on. It is stable. And then there is gonna take another ten years in order to repair the damage of these reactors2. That’s the best case scenario3. The worst case scenario is that they have to evacuate4. The workers have to evacuate because radiation levels are too far too beyond comprehension. It means we are in free fall.  All three reactors have a meltdown. It means a catastrophe5 beyond comprehension more than Chernobyl.

-And affecting more than just the island of Japan.

-It could then go into the oceans where it could contaminate, well, sea life as well as of course, northern Japan. Parts of it could be a dead zone.  We are talking about mammoth6 amount of thyroid cancers especially in children. Food that has to be impounded and economy reduce to ruins in northern Japan. That is the worst case.

-This is the worst case. I mean does it make you want to just get a cab and never get out.

-Well that’s why people are leaving, that is why some of my relatives decided7 to leave rather than...

-This Indian Point, as far as I know, my house has no nuclear power in it. We don't like the dishwasher, none of that uses nuclear power. I don't want Indian Point. I'd live down the street; It’s like a cold second. I’m just down there, I don't want that anymore. How can we get them to take that away? I think earlier I said it was run by people of Arkansas. I think it is run by people in Louisiana. I am sorry, I don't know. But I don't want it. I didn't vote for it. I don’t want it. And you know I’m just get triple A batteries. I don't need it. What do we do to get it out of here?

-Well, a certain flash of the lights right here in this room come from Indian Point.

-We can do without them.

-And of course, you know there is a trade off. It means that we have to buy energy from Canada and other places, rates are gonna go up a little bit, you know.

-Rates go up anyway.

-And then the governor of New York State has even said out with Indian point. Even the governor…

-Is anything he can do about that legislatively8?

-Well we have to like make sure that the politicians are aware of it, put pressure on the politicians.

And in fact even one NRC official said that we had a chance to re-license9 that reactor, knowing today we probably would not license that reactor.

-Yeah, that’s a case of no-brainer. But I remember a few years ago. They had trouble with emergency alarms going off up there, and it was like, well, is that really radioactive steam leaking or is it just a battle alarm? We’re not sure. I mean we have so many, so many gains so much violence in the city. Why don't we send a bunch of these gains up there just to take the thing apart? You know and then look the other way.

-That’s the Letterman solution, right?

-It could be my solution.
