And older Australians could be the winners from a wide-ranging tax review. The Treasury⁶ Secretary Ken⁷ Henry has signaled tax breaks for older people could be an incentive⁸ to keep them in the workforce⁹ longer. But low-paid workers in Australia could lose salary perks¹⁰ of up to 30,000 dollars. The restructure will affect church-based hospitals, nursing homes and welfare agencies which provide top-up payments to their workers.
