(单词翻译)

Just as air travel restrictions1 were to be eased, British aviation authorities say a new ash cloud appears to be heading towards the UK. They say the reopening of airspace in Scotland will go ahead as planned. But the airports in Northern Ireland could remain closed. Britain has deployed2 three naval3 ships to help stranded4 commuters back across the Channel. An aviation body has labelled the EU's response to the situation as an embarrassing mess.

Police are today preparing to lay charges over the murder of the Melbourne gangland figure Carl Williams. Williams was bashed to death inside a maximum security prison. Police have been questioning two men over the attack. They say Williams had been on good terms with one of them.

And a dispute over GST revenue is threatening to scuttle5 the Prime Minister's hopes of clinching6 a national health funding deal. State and territory leaders are set for a second day of negotiations7 in Canberra. Kevin Rudd needs to convince Victoria and Western Australia to give up a third of their GST revenue in order to get his health funding plan through. But both state premiers8 are standing9 firm.

And that's the latest from the ABC newsroom. I'll be back with more updates later.
