The former Prime Minister Paul Keating is urging the Government to speed up its plan to boost superannuation
savings9. The Government wants to use revenue from its mining tax to lift the super rate from 9 to 12 per cent by 2019.
And Australia's largest
poultry10 manufacturer, Baiada, has been cited by WorkSafe Victoria for the death of a worker. In August, 34-year-old Sarel Singh was killed while cleaning fast-moving
machinery11. A report into the death found Baiada
breached12 occupational health and safety laws by not controlling risks at the plant.
