Julia Gillard is denying there’s been a

A bitter fight is
brewing4 over the Gunns’ controversial
pulp5 mill proposal in northern Tasmania. The Federal Government has given the project the green light, subject to strict environmental safeguards. Green groups are
vowing6 to fight it all the way and are now planning a massive blockade.
There’s no sign of a let-up in the rain in far north Queensland. Roads have been cut and several towns have been
isolated7. Authorities say so far there’s been no need for evacuations. But the weather bureau is warning the rain will keep falling for several more days yet.
And Indonesia’s President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono was being accused of
corruption9 and abuse of power. Secret US diplomatic cables released by WikiLeaks say he personally intervened to influence judges and
prosecutors10 to protect
corrupt8 politicians. Fairfax newspapers is reporting they also show he used Indonesia’s intelligence service to spy on his political rivals.
