breach6 the town’s levees this morning. The Pacific Highway at Kempsey is closed and many local roads are also flooded, leaving some communities
isolated7.
Indonesian police have arrested 16
militants9 that they believe were plotting attacks against the country. The arrests come just two days before the verdict in the terror trial of Islamic cleric Abu Bakar Bashir. Bashir is facing charges of funding a
militant8 group in Indonesia’s Aceh province.
