The former Prime Minister Bob Hawke is in a Sydney hospital this morning, being treated for a
minor4 chest complaint. It’s understood the 81-year-old was admitted to St Vincent's Private Hospital with chest
congestion5 following an overseas trip. The ABC’s been told it’s not serious.
And the New Zealand city of Christchurch has been hit by another night of aftershocks. The most powerful was a 5.3-magnitude
tremor6 which struck about 30 kilometres south-east of the city. It caused power outages but no additional damage.
