Judges of the International Criminal Court will decide today whether to issue an arrest warrant for Colonel Gaddafi for crimes against humanity. The court's prosecutor⁴ has requested arrest warrants for the Libyan leader, one of his sons and his intelligence chief. It's alleged⁵ Colonel Gaddafi ordered attacks on unarmed civilians⁶. 

 

Israel has started to dismantle⁷ part of a controversial West Bank barrier near the Palestinian village of Bilin. The Israeli Supreme⁸ Court ordered the barrier be torn down four years ago. It's been the site of weekly protests by Palestinians who say it's taken over a large chunk⁹ of their land. 

 

Tobacco company Philip Morris will launch legal action today to try to block the Federal Government's proposed plain packaging laws. The company says it's planning to argue that the new laws breach¹⁰ an international investment treaty. The company argues plain packaging would drastically reduce the value of its Australia investments. It also says the damages could run into billions of dollars.

 

And the search for a yachtsman missing in icy waters off Sydney's northern beaches has resumed. The man fell overboard yesterday. Rescue boats and helicopters have been searching the area of Narrabeen, but have so far found no trace of him. The man wasn't wearing a life jacket.
