taxpayers3 in Victoria paid up to $650,000 for talk show host Oprah Winfrey to take 92 guests on a three-day tour of Melbourne. Receipts released under Freedom of Information laws show Oprah was farewell from Melbourne with the dinner costing more than $100,000. It's reported to have cost $5 million to bring over the talk show host and her audience. But tourism
analysts4 say the exposure from the trip was more than worth the cost.
