And staff at gaming giant Nintendo have gone to drastic measures to prevent "game over". Company executives have slashed⁸ their own salaries as well as the price of the Nintendo 3DS console after the company posted its first-ever operating loss. The poor result has been blamed on mediocre⁹ game titles and unexciting technology.
