(单词翻译)
The long-running Mr Men book series turns 40 this week. The very first Mr Men character was Mr Tickle1. The long-armed bright orange character was created by author Roger Hargreaves in 1971. He got the idea when his six-year-old son asked “what does a tickle look like?” Next came Mr Greedy, Nosey, Happy, Bump and Sneeze, which eventually led to four decades of children’s books and the TV series. The series has sold 120 million books worldwide.
After being launched in Europe and Asia, the Music Matters campaign has reached Australia. It's to remind music fans about the value and significance of music and persuade people not to fileshare. Many artists have written blogs, including the Birds of Tokyo, Silverchair and Gotye, and Eskimo Joe did this animation2.
In a rare opportunity for collectors, thirteen works by John Glover have gone under the hammer in Tasmania. It's the largest collection of his works to be put out for sale since his death 150 years ago. John Glover is considered the most important landscape artist of colonial times. The works ranged from sketches3 to water colours and fetched a combined total of $7,500.
