Up to 100 homes in the northern Victorian town of Wangaratta have been evacuated5 because of a chemical spill. People living within a 300-meter radius6 of the factory where the spill happened were told to leave their homes. Authorities say most of the chemical cloud has now dissipated, but residents have been advised to stay indoors. 
 
And online shoppers have been warned this Christmas about an increase in the theft of credit card details. A University of Canberra report has found that cyber criminals are increasingly targeting mobile devices with destructive software. It found there has been a 200 percentage rise in the practice over the past year.
