GENEVA, Feb. 27 (Xinhua) -- The 2014 World Cup hosts Brazil will take on Bosnia in their first friendly of the year on Wednesday in Switzerland, however, Real Madrid star Kaka was left out of the squad1.
Kaka did play in the final two games of 2011 as Brazil beat Gabon and Egypt, but while coach Mana Menezes said he respects the player's abilities, he refused to give any explanation.
"I'm not going to give an explanation for every player not selected," he said.
Ronaldinho and Neymar have been included in the squad.
Ronaldinho, who is approaching 32, is still showing flashes of his old
brilliance2 with Flamengo.
The squad arrived in Switzerland on Sunday and Menezes said that "Bosnia are a quality
rival3, who only just missed out on a
berth4 at the Euro 2012 finals".
The Bosnians,
currently5 ranked 19th in the world, just failed to gain a place in Poland and Ukraine. Brazil are currently seventh in the FIFA standings.
