　　在上面的报道中，medical tourist就是“医疗游客”，指那些到技术精湛的国家就医，顺便到当地旅游的人。Medical tourism和medical travel都属于medical tour（医疗旅游），但是和medical tourist不同，medical traveler（医疗旅者）是指那些因为危急疾病到国外求医的病人，一般没有闲情参观国外的名胜。相比之下，medical tourist所要治疗的都是不危及生命的身体缺憾，大部分时间都是在旅游。
　　现在tourism（旅游业）是许多国家的重要经济支柱，针对游客的各种服务也日趋完善。游客在出国前可以让tourist agency（旅行社）帮忙安排行程，出国时如果是package tour（跟团旅游）的话，要听从tourist guide（导游）的安排。当然你也可以选择self-organized tour/DIY tour（自助游），但是要小心不要碰上tourist trap（敲游客竹杠的地方）。
