MADRID, July 3 (Xinhua) -- Luis Milla, coach of the Spanish football team for the London Olympic Games, named his 22-man preliminary squad1 for the quadrennial games on Tuesday.
The list includes Jordi Alba, Juan Mata and Javi Martinez who formed part of Spain's
historic2 European Championship winning side.
Alba played in all of Spain's matches in the European Championship held in Poland and Ukraine and scored his country's second goal in Sunday's final against Italy.
Mata also scored in the 4-0 victory against Italy, which was his only appearance in the competition, while Martinez made one appearance.
Martinez will be joined by his Bilbao teammates Iker Muniain, Ander Herrera and Mikel San Jose.
