 URUMQI, July 21 (Xinhua) -- More than 400 vehicles are stranded1 following rain-triggered mudslides that cut off multiple sections of a major road in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur autonomous2 region, border police said Saturday.

Several stretches of National Highway 314 within the Kirgiz autonomous prefecture of Kizilsu were buried by landslides3 triggered by downpours that started on Friday night, said Zhu Yong, a border police officer.
