　　China and U.S. relations are facing tensions recently over the disputed territorial5 issue with Japan.
 
　　U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton claimed last week that the Islands are under the administrative6 authority of Japan, and therefore the U.S.-Japan Security Treaty applies to it.
 
　　Chinese Foreign Ministry7 refuted Clinton's comments as regardless of facts, calling on the US to adopt a more responsible attitude toward the issue.
 
　　Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei is calling for Washington and Beijing to maintain the good momentum8 to push forward bilateral relations, strengthening dialogue and communication, as well as boosting trust and cooperation.
