 MANILA, April 23 (Xinhua) -- A group of unidentified suspects attacked Tuesday night a police station by using a grenade launcher in southern Philippines, local police said.

According to Compostela Valley Provincial1 Police Office, an alleged2 M203 grenade was fired to the police station of Mabini, a town in the province, at around 7:25 p.m. from the national highway, hitting the second floor of the building.

There was no reported casualty from the policemen, however, the building of the Mabini Police Station was damaged and the windowpanes were broken, it said.

Teams from the provincial police and the Philippine Army were proceeding3 to the area as the alert level has been raised in the said police station, it added.
