　　Argentina has a strong commitment to the implementation3 of the "actions needed to avoid having civilian4 nuclear energy be misused5 for destructive and threatening objectives," Argentine Foreign Minister Hector Timerman pledged at an international meeting Monday.
　　The meeting was held by the International Atomic Energy Agency at its headquarters in Vienna, Austria.
　　Argentina is among the "peace-loving nations," Timerman said. "We know the use of nuclear technologies, especially the full cycle of nuclear fuel, requires not just scientific and technological6 excellence7, but also enormous supervision8 and responsibility in the handling of nuclear materials."
　　The top Argentine diplomat9 also referred to nuclear terrorism and the physical protection of nuclear materials, saying that countries like Argentina "cannot remain silent to the anachronistic10 existence of nuclear weapons and the danger they represent."
