1. An Illinois judge is expected to rule Thursday whether convicted wife killer¹ Drew Peterson will get a new trial. Peterson's new attorney claims last year's trial was bungled². Peterson was convicted of killing³ his third wife in 2004. 

 

2. Officials say two people have survived a small plane crash at an airport in Georgia. Five others on board were killed. Federal Aviation Officials say the jet crashed off the end of the runway at Thomson-McDuffie County Airport Wednesday night. 

 

3. On Wednesday, a detective admitted at Oscar Pistorius' bail⁴ hearing that police have no evidence challenging the Olympian's claim that he accidentally shot and killed his girlfriend on Valentines' Day, thinking it was an intruder. 

 

4. It is a great workout for a Jedi in training. A San Francisco fencing Academy has begun offering star wars light saber lessons. Wanna-be Luke Skywalkers are taught fancy light saber flourishes and spins which can be linked together to form dazzling sequences.
