President Obama in a nationwide address tonight called for action against Syria for its use of chemical weapons against its own people. He'll be also said he's asked the congress to delay a vote on possible military action while diplomatic options are pursued. Director of national intelligence says
declassified2 series of documents showing government agencies have exceeded their legal authority when they search a database of telephone calls. NPR's Larry Abramson reports the documents indicate a special intelligence court ordered the agencies to crack the mistake.
The documents include formally declassified legal opinions from the foreign intelligence surveillance court. They show that backing 2009, the national security agency violated its own rules which grade the restrict how
analysts3 can search a database of most Americans' phone records. The NRC says it
pointed4 out the mistakes to the court and
fixed5 the problem. But the documents show the agency had difficult managing that complicated surveillance system, that was exposed by former government
contractor6 Edward Snowden. The documents also show NRC analysts share the secret information much more widely than they're supposed to. Larry Abramson NPR News.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average announced the
swapping7 bank of American for Goldmen Sachs. They were placing Hewlett-Packard and Alcoa, in a six-company shake-up. It's among the largest for indecision in years. S&P, Dow Jones says it will place HP with visa and Alcoa with sneaker
maker8 Nike, S&P index committee chair David M. Blitzer says the change's not expected without any significant move for the index.
The index will not bump up and down as the results because the divisor will be adjusted, so that the transition will be smooth.
Changes are due to take effect the start of tradings of September 22rd. The small committee in charge of the summing what

The honor comes 50 years after the black girls were killed by a Ku Klux Klan bomb, at Birmingham 16th street Baptist church, targeted because of its role in the civil rights movement. The capital ceremony, House speaker John Binner choked back tears presenting the award.
