　　SARAJEVO, Oct. 23 (Xinhua) -- Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) will launch a huge campaign of planting tree on Thursday in a bid to highlight importance of forest eco-systems.

　　The campaign, named "Let's do it - A Million Trees in One Day", will see tree-planting in over 80 municipalities inside the country. Some 20,000 volunteers will participate, with an aim to plant one million trees.

　　Meanwhile, forestry1 companies will coordinate2 the campaign, including monitoring the planted trees afterwards.

　　The main purpose is to raise public awareness3 over environmental protection and importance of forest eco-systems.

　　Forests and forest land covers about 53 percent of BiH land, with 81 percent of them owned by the state and 19 percent privately-owned.

　　There were significant destructions of forests, mostly around urban areas, during the war in 1990s.
