Northeast China has been hit by another bout1 of heavy snow from Sunday. In Heilongjiang Province, blizzard2 warnings were upgraded to the highest red alert on Monday afternoon.
Seven expresways are closed, and traffic restrictions3 are temporarily imposed in the provincial4 capital Harbin. The continued snowfall has also shut down expressways in neighboring Jilin and Liaoning Provinces.

However, air and rail transport have not been seriously affected5 there.
Some parts in the Northeast may see heavy snow of more than 20 millimeters in the next 24 hours. The National Meteorological Center says it will continue through Tuesday.
