Chinese vice president Li Yuanchao has attended Tuesday's memorial service for Nelson Mandela, as special representative for president Xi Jinping. Li delivered a speech at the memorial service, held at a stadium near South Africa's capital Johannesburg. The event gathered 91 heads of state and government. 

"We are deeply saddened by the loss of such a great friend.....The best way to remember and commemorate² Mr. Mandela is to advocate his spirit and carry forward his legacy³." Li said.
