Russia says its navy is ready to escort ships transporting Syria’s chemical stockpile to the destruction site.
The stockpile is due to be destroyed at sea on a US ship, under an international deal. Denmark and Norway are planning to ship the chemicals from the port city of Latakia, under their own naval1 escorts. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov says his country will be ready to provide aid on both land and sea.
