　　但是如果只是自己成功了，却没能帮助别人也走向成功，那不叫真正的成功。真正的成功是通向更高的地方，这是真理，但是你怎么做才能帮助别人也通往更高的地方呢？

　　So, I spent my life doing that, thinking about how can I help somebody else move to higher ground. How can I help somebody else to get a stronger and better place, because that is success. That's it. That's why we all alive, to use ourselves, our lives, for something bigger than ourselves.

　　因此我一生都在思考怎么做才能帮助别人通往更高的地方，我该怎样做才能帮助别人达到一个更好更牢固的地方，因为在我看来那才是真正的成功。那的确是真正的成功。我们活着的意义就是为了让我们的生命发光发热，去服务于更多的人。

　　So, graduates, in closing, each of us has to stand in our own shoes, and the real question is how will you stand in your own? Will you stand in them with humility¹ and compassion² and integrity³ and courage? Well, I'm here to tell you, every day and every experience of your life will give you a chance to make that choice. It still happens to me, every day, all the time.

　　毕业生们，最后，我们总要穿上自己的鞋子走自己的路，真正的问题是你们会选择怎样走呢？你们会不会戴着谦卑、同情、正直和勇气走呢？今天在这里我要告诉你们，生命中的每一天，每次经历都会给你选择的机会。我也是每一天每一刻都面临着选择。

　　Most recently, I was faced with a big decision as to whether or not— we had done this wonderful show, informative⁴ show, on Columbine, with an author of the book who had written this really fascinating, intriguing⁵ book on Columbine. And e finished taping the show, and I went upstairs and I said to the producers, who were all excited because he was doing his first interview with us, and they get really excited, "It’s exclusive⁶ and it's wonderful, it's great."

　　刚刚过去的一些日子，我一直面临着一个重大的抉择——我们录制了一期很棒的节目，是关于科伦拜校园惨案的一本很精彩的书的作者。当我们录完节目，我上楼和制片人说话，他们都异常激动，因为这位作家是第一次做我们的嘉宾，他们兴奋地说，“这绝对是独家新闻，太棒了，太伟大了。”
