US whistleblower Edward Snowden has given a wide-range interview to US television saying he was trained as a spy and operator overseas. He's told ABC he worked under cover for both CIA and the National Security Agency.

 

 

When they're saying a lot of level systems of administrator² that I don't know what I'm talking about, I'd say it's someone misleading.

 

 

Finance Minister Mathias Cormann the parliament free committee that the ABC must have had a lot of fat in its budget to be able to set up its 24-hour news channel in 2010. The government has cut the ABC's budget by 1% over 4 years. Senator Cormann says other taxpayer-funded agencies have to file efficiencies in recent years and the ABC should do the same.

 

 

And American poet, author and activist³ Maya Angelou has died. She was 86. Ms. Angelo made her name with her memoir⁴ I know why the caged bird sings which chartered a childhood of oppression and abuse in the Big South in the US in the 1930s.
